Has E-commerce Put A Dent Into Retail Revenue?
I'm curious to know if e-commerce has affected retail sales in a major way and what does this mean for the future of some retailers. I understand that e-commerce is a more convenient way of shopping without the hassle of having to leave your home and deal with overbearing sales people, but is it the most efficient way to shop when it comes to fashion? I have ordered from online retailers and received the product and it's wasn't exactly what I thought I ordered. Either the color was not accurate due to the way the product was photographed or the fit wasn't right. Believe me, I understand the convenience of online shopping but i remember when there was a time when people wanted to get out and do some retail therapy. I think always purchasing online will take the fun out of shopping and it truly is therapy. Now, on he other hand, you have luxury brands that are only carried on e-commerce websites such as Luisaviaroma and SSENSE.com, making them a few of the limited sources to acquire some of those specialty must-haves.
